I started dancing at the age of seven. I attended classes in tap, ballet, modern theatre, jazz, national and drama at Marianne Jepson College of Dance and Drama, Nubcote Street in Oldham. I attended part time up to the age of eighteen. I became a Full Time Student at Miss Jepson's at the age of eighteen; I did a three year Teacher Training Course where I gained all my Associates in Tap, Classical Ballet, Modern Theatre and National Dance. I also gained my LAMDA qualifications in Drama. My Professional career as a dancer started when I was 21 out in Greece for four months, from there on to the Canary Islands where I danced in 5* Hotels on the Islands. I danced out in Japan for five months in a 5* Hotel followed by dance contracts on board various Cruise Liners; where cabaret, scenery and luxury sailed me around for eighteen months. My final contract was a Christmas one up in Hartlepool. I did some teaching for Marianne Jepson in between contracts and also for a Theatre School in Manchester.
I began teaching fully on January 9th 1998 when I took over the Sue McKinley School of Dance at St. John's; it had already been established for approximately twelve years.
I teach Imperial Society for the Teachers of Dance (I.S.T.D.) This being the biggest and most recognised dance body, both nationally and internationally.
I am mother to two boys who are now 20 and 19 years of age.
I have since gained my Associate Diploma in Modem Theatre and Tap.
I was Area Organiser for the I.S.T.D. in the Manchester area and spent a lot of time organising courses for the teachers in and around our borough. In the past I have choreographed for local Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society's.

I took over my second school, the Helen Wild School of Dance in January 2005. I am proud to say that I am very lucky having a Dance School with such wonderful, enthusiastic and talented children as I have. I hope this will continue for many years to come. We do a show every other year and examinations twice yearly. I am CRB checked and recently gained my Diploma In Dance Education for Ballet, Tap, Modern Theatre and National dance.
I am a qualified First Aider.
I have been teaching now for a number of years. I have taught lots of children over that time. I have entered hundreds in for dance examinations in many dance genres and had excellent pass rates. I am very proud of all my pupils past and present.
I am also a qualified Zumba Instructor and Fitsteps instructor. (Adult Classes available).
I do shows every other year. Past shows include: 'Decades of Dance, The complete Circle', 'Movies and Musicals', 'Steps to the Stars', 'Radio Dance Show', 'Variety Box' and 'Step In Time, Come Dance and Shine', 'Seasonal Sensations','Treading the |Boards', 'Fantisney' , 'Let's Dance','20 Years of Dancing Feet' (my Anniversary show) and most recently 'Rainbow Rhythm's'. All my shows are well planned and include all my classes. The response from both pupils and parents is always amazing and makes my career a very worthwhile one. I had seventeen children perform at the Tameside Theatre back in October 2007. That was in a Variety show, along with children from other schools.
We have been involved in the annual 'Tapathon' which raises money for 'Children In Need'. We have performed at local events in Springhead, Shaw and Oldham.
We do lots of fundraising throughout the year!
I have held Open Days. These are done to give parents a full insight as to what goes on during dance classes and also shows them exactly how well their child is doing.
I OWE MY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE TO MISS MARIANNE JEPSON WHO SADLY PASSED AWAY IN JANUARY OF 2008. SHE WAS A WELL LOVED AND VERY RESPECTED LADY OF THE DANCE
